100GbE on duplex multimode fiber
Most 100GbE multimode optics (100GBASE-SR4) need 8-fiber MPO cabling. SWDM4 instead multiplexes four wavelengths onto one fiber pair with LC connectors, so you can reuse duplex OM3, OM4 or OM5 fiber. Reach depends on fiber grade, typically around 75m on OM3 and 100m on OM4.
